United Way Success By 6® Offers Raising Children with Conscious Discipline® Sessions
United Way Success By 6® is offering free monthly information sessions for parents, grandparents, primary caregivers and child care professionals.
The next session in the series will take place on April 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wyatt Park Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 2623 Mitchell Avenue. There will also be a virtual option.
The presenters will share principles of Conscious Discipline and how to move from surviving to thriving. The April session will cover how cooperation is achieved through relationships and connections. Attendees will learn how to shift their thinking to help children learn missing skills.
Bobbie Cronk, Director of Children’s Initiatives, United Way of Greater St. Joseph, said: “Conscious Discipline is based on the brain state model and helps us understand how to move children, and ourselves, out of stress into a state where self-control and learning can take place.”
Child care professionals attending in person will receive 1.5 Missouri Clock Hours of Child Care Licensing credit for each session.
