Leadership St. Joseph
Building the skills of individuals to be effective leaders in the community since 1982
Leadership St. Joseph, a program of United Way of Greater St. Joseph, is a year-long leadership development program designed for individuals who live or work in the St. Joseph, Missouri area.
This program builds a strong network of engaged leaders while helping participants develop the skills and knowledge needed to make a lasting impact in their community.
About the Program
Leadership St. Joseph provides participants with in-depth exposure to key areas that shape our community, including:
- Education
- Health
- Business
- Arts and culture
- Social services
- Community history
Through hands-on experiences and collaborative learning, participants gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges in Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas.
Program Structure & Schedule
The program runs annually and includes:
- Monthly sessions held during business hours on the second Thursday of each month
- A required two-day opening retreat
- Interactive learning experiences and community engagement opportunities
Tuition: $1,850 per participant

Volunteer Leadership Opportunities
Leadership St. Joseph is guided by a dedicated volunteer steering committee that works alongside program staff to ensure its continued success.
